ANZSOG are shaping the future of public service.

ANZSOG first engaged JTB through tender process for the discovery and strategy of a new digital presence that better reflected the business' 2030 strategy. Upon completion of the website discovery and strategy, ANZSOG awarded JTB the contract to completely refresh their brand identity and also design and build their new website. We are also spearheading their brand campaign to launch the transition and drive brand awareness and enrolments.

Background

The Australia and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG) is a trusted partner to governments across Australasia, delivering executive education, thought leadership and sector-wide collaboration.

With the continued growth of its programs, events, research library and communities, ANZSOG recognised an opportunity to evolve its digital platform to better support its expanding ecosystem.

JTB Studios was engaged to guide a strategic discovery process and define a future-ready digital experience aligned with ANZSOG’s long-term ambitions, which later evolved into a full brand refresh for ANZSOG.

Objectives

The objective was to create a future-ready digital experience that could scale alongside ANZSOG’s expanding ecosystem. This involved refining the site structure to better serve key audiences, simplifying access to programs and research, and designing a flexible component-based framework that would support ongoing innovation. Just as importantly, the platform needed to give ANZSOG the tools and confidence to continuously evolve its digital presence over time.

Approach

Our engagement with ANZSOG began with an in-depth discovery phase designed to build a genuine understanding of the organisation from multiple perspectives. We spoke with internal stakeholders across teams, as well as alumni, to capture diverse viewpoints and future ambitions. Navigation testing and structural analysis helped identify opportunities to strengthen clarity and improve audience pathways. The outcome of this phase was a comprehensive discovery and solution definition document, which ANZSOG used to inform its website redevelopment RFP.

JTB subsequently submitted for the redevelopment tender and was selected to deliver the new website. In parallel, we were also engaged to lead ANZSOG’s rebrand. Drawing on insights from the discovery phase and alignment with ANZSOG’s 2030 strategy, we developed a brand story inspired by the idea of ripples in nature — reflecting how the impact of ANZSOG’s work extends outward to strengthen public service capability and outcomes. The visual identity was grounded in land, water and sky, with thoughtful consideration of First Nations perspectives embedded throughout the process.

With deep knowledge gained through both discovery and brand strategy, we were uniquely positioned to deliver the website with strategic clarity and continuity. The platform was developed using an agile methodology, implemented in Storyblok with a headless front-end architecture to ensure flexibility and scalability. Advanced search functionality powered by Algolia enhanced content discoverability and enabled more personalised user experiences.

Following launch, the relationship has evolved into an ongoing partnership. JTB continues to support ANZSOG through monthly engagement across brand activation, paid media, PR, SEO and PPC, as well as continuous website enhancements. Rather than a discrete project, the engagement represents a long-term collaboration focused on strengthening ANZSOG’s digital presence and amplifying the ripple effect of its work.
